Study finds ways to improve medication adherence in breast cancer survivors

CU Boulder research reveals strategies can boost medication adherence among breast cancer survivors by 1.5 times. Cost-cutting policy changes and physical and behavioural therapies to manage side effects were found effective. However, educational approaches have failed to improve adherence. The study emphasises the need for oncologists to focus on adherence and the potential role of treating depression in supporting medication intake. There is room for more research in developing ways to support survivors.
