PM says cyber crimes can have social, geopolitical implications; need global cooperation to deal it, ET Telecom

Terrorists are using digital avenues like the dark net, metaverse and cryptocurrencies for radicalisation and funding, says Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is calling for global cooperation to combat cybercrimes, which the World Bank estimates have cost the world $5.2 trillion over the period of 2019-2023. Modi believes cyber terrorism has social and geopolitical implications beyond financial losses, warning of distress caused by deep fakes and cyber attacks.
