Ministry of Defence documents leaked in cyber attack

The LockBit ransomware group allegedly stole thousands of Ministry of Defence documents from fencing manufacturer Zaun and uploaded them to the dark web. The firm believes the breach occurred through a rogue Windows 7 PC but says no classified files were compromised. The stolen information could potentially help the group access high-security locations, including a nuclear submarine base in Scotland. The UK government is now considering the implications for data storage and security. LockBit previously targeted Royal Mail and the NHS.
