Home Office ordered to stop work on former RAF base set to house migrants

The West Lindsey District Council has ordered the Home Office to halt operations on a former RAF base, accusing it of violating planning rules. The base is slated to accommodate migrants. The council claims there has been infringement of planning controls relating to listed buildings and archaeology at the site. The council is worried about potential irreversible damage to critical heritage assets. The Home Office’s failure to provide necessary information or assurance has triggered the temporary stop order.
