Glasgow LEZ ‘failure’ as emissions rise 10 per cent since the policy began and the council is blaming the weather

Traffic emissions in Glasgow have risen by 10%b since the introduction of the city’s Low Emissions Zones (LEZs), despite these zones being designed to reduce pollution levels. Nitrogen dioxide and fine particulate matter levels have also increased and are nearing legal limits. While the city council attributes the spike to weather conditions, businesses argue the data demonstrates the ineffectiveness of the LEZs.
