Ethical hacking: what is it?

Ethical hacking involves cybersecurity experts finding and fixing weaknesses in a system’s security to protect an organisation’s digital data. They operate with the client’s approval, helping to detect vulnerabilities, optimise security resources, foresee potential cyber-collapses and prevent information theft. Ethical hackers utilise the same tactics as malicious hackers but without harmful intent. They are essential in ensuring data protection, particularly for financial institutions and IT platform developers who must comply with regulations for product legalisation.
