Cisco VPN flaw faces attempted Akira ransomware attacks

A zero-day flaw in Cisco’s VPN software is being exploited by the Akira ransomware gang. The medium-severity vulnerability allows remote attackers to conduct brute force attacks or identify valid username and password combinations. No software update is yet available, but Cisco has provided indicators of compromise and workarounds, and recommends applying them while waiting for a fix.
