BadBazaar Malware Attacking Users Via Weaponized Apps

The Android malware BadBazaar, linked to a Chinese APT group called GREF, is being distributed through applications posing as Signal Plus Messenger and FlyGram on Google Play store, Samsung Galaxy Store and certain websites. Historically aimed at Uyghurs and Turkic ethnic minorities, the malware steals data including contact lists, call logs and installed applications specifics, while also spying on Signal conversations. The malware is known to be active in countries such as Germany, Poland, the US, Ukraine, Australia, Brazil, Denmark and others.
