Avoid using “bcc” in bulk emails, says information regulator

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has advised health organisations to avoid using the blind carbon copy (bcc) function in emails containing sensitive information. This follows recent data breaches in health services. The ICO has released new guidance to aid in understanding the law surrounding bulk emails, with possible reprimands or fines for non-compliance.
