About 1 in 5 Nursing Facilities Would Currently Meet Proposed Requirements for Nursing Staff Hours

81% of US nursing facilities need to hire more staff to meet proposed staffing requirements from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), says a KFF analysis. Fewer for-profit facilities would comply than non-profit and government ones. Compliance varies by state, with 100% in Alaska meeting requirements but only 1% in Louisiana.
